Where ever you find yourself reading this, feelings of uncertainty are in the air. Coronavirus has firmly cemented itself into our lives, social interactions, workplaces, minds and the conversations we share. It's near impossible to avoid, and this post is for those seeking positive ways to boost, and uphold a healthy immune system.
Addison's guide and insights below:
. . .
Deep Breathing & Breath work
Viruses are challenged by highly oxygenated environments. Breath is life and when the body is under stress, we opt to breathe shallow and reduce the amount of oxygen we take in. Set aside time in your daily schedule to focus on intentional breath work and relaxation. Find a process that works for you best.
The cold will help activate the immune system, nervous system and lymph system. Cold water contracts the muscles and causes them to eliminate toxins and poisons more quickly. It also strengthens the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems which assists in keeping us calm in times of upheaval.
Stay hydrated & drink ginger tea
Our body is roughly 70% water and keeping hydrated is vital to our basic health. It’s easy to become dehydrated and this can effect our focus and ability to detox. By increasing water and herbal teas, the body will be hydrated and responsive to detoxing. Fresh Ginger allows the bodies digestive system to stay warm and active. Add into your teas, porridge, smoothie, soups, broths and anything else you can think of.
. . .
May you all stay well, be well, and take care of those around you.
